Westport House in Mayo is famously known as the old residence of Grace O’Malley, who was the Pirate Queen of Connaught in the Sixteenth Centuary.
There are spectacular parkland settings with lakes, terraces, wonderful gardens and magnificent scenic views of Clew Bay, the Atlantic Ocean, Achill, Clare Island and Croagh Patrick which places it as a must see for visitors.
Westport House was frst open to the public in 1960. It has a wide variety of activities and facilities including Caravan and Camping Space, a Pirate Adventure Park and of course, Wesport House itself.
